Acreage: 160 acres overall, with 141 acres planted
Location: Situated at 3,300 feet in Brownfield, Texas (Texas High Plains AVA), which falls into Terry County. This is where 80%+ of the grapes made into Texas Wine are grown.
Vines: 20 acres planted in 2014 with Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Albariño, Roussanne, and Sauvignon Blanc. The following year we planted 117 acres with varietals such as Teroldego, Carménère, Sagrantino, Malvasia Bianca, Petit Verdot, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Tempranillo, and a whole lot of Tannat! All in we grow 21 varietals and over 30 clones. As one of the largest grape growers in Texas, we sell most of the grapes to other Texas wineries, but we hold back many of our favorite varietals and clones to make into wine for our Kalasi Cellars program.
